Another Disaster - More Relief Trips Planned

We have been in contact with MNA's Disaster Response and have set dates for two trips to assist the more than 5,000 families effected by the flooding in the area of Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. The dates are as follows:

• Aug 30- Sept 13: We will be be there for the two weeks but volunteers can come for either one or both.
• Oct 25- Nov 22: We will be there for the month and volunteers can come for one or more weeks during that time.

The host church has a large basement (40 volunteers per week) that will have dorm quarters. One for men and one for women. The bedding will be either air mattresses and sleeping bags or cots. The church has a kitchen and dining area and has A/C. Showers are being installed.

The work will involve "mucking out". Removing the Sheetrock, insulation and debree from the homes. Most houses had 4-6 feet of water in them.
